Department of Electrical Engineering

The Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE) is a teaching and research unit of the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. We are commited with the teaching, research and services provision to the community in the several scientific areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The department collaborates in the teaching of several study cycles, namely in Professional Technical Higher Courses, which comprise an advanced training of short duration and in Bachelor's and Master's Degree Programs of the School of Technology and Management.

Projects

SAFe: Forest Alert Monitoring System


The project aims to create and implement a set of innovative operations that will minimize and detect the occurrence of forest fires, monitoring the fauna, and contribute to the development of the Trás-os-Montes region, with specific focus in the district of Bragança. The set of activities that constitute the environment are easily replicable to other regions with similar characteristics.

This project aims to develop surface modification solutions and advanced systems for component production equipment for multiple industrial sectors, with particular implementation capacity in the automotive sector where both the vehicle production itself and the integrated components are prefigured as benefits generated by the project.
