Department of Applied Mechanics
The Department of Applied Mechanics (DAM) is one of ten departments from the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. It is a school unit for scientific and pedagogical subjects, and is dedicated to teaching, research and development activities and the provision of services to the external community. Namely with applied research, consulting and technical training to companies and industry.
The department collaborates in the teaching of several study cycles, namely in Professional Technical Higher Courses, which comprise an advanced training of short duration and in Bachelor's and Master's Degree Programs of the School of Technology and Management.
The members of the department develop research work in various fields of science, with special focus in the areas of Structural Engineering, Materials, Products and Eco-Construction and Energy, Environment and Management.
The DAM is made up with 10 professors of which 6 are PhDs in Civil Engineering , 3 are PhDs in Mechanical Engineering and 1 is a PhD in Chemical Engineering.
