Isabel Maria Lopes

Isabel Lopes, Graduated in Management Informatics, received MSc Degree in Management and a PhD in Information Systems and Technologies (2012). She is currently a Professor of the Department of Computers and Communications at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) - Portugal. She teaches several courses in the area of Informatics. She published more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and proceedings, and has several communications at international scientific conferences. She serves as a member of Program Board and Organizing Committees for some Scientific Committees of International Conferences and has collaborated as a reviewer with several journals.
Her current research Interests is in Tourism Reserarch; Smart Tourism; Smart Cities; Information Security; Information Systems Security in Public Administration; Information Systems Security Policies; Higher Education; Virtual Social Networks; Portuguese Smart Cities Network; Dimensions of a Smart City; Internet of Things, Digital Transition, Digital Marketing and Social Networks.
She is a researcher: UNIAG (Applied Management Research Unit, since 2013) and researcher of ALGORITMI (ISTTOS - UM, since 2013).

José Eduardo Moreira Fernandes

José Eduardo Moreira Fernandes received his Ph.D. in Technology and Information Systems from the University of Minho, Portugal, in 2010 and his Master's degree in Information Systems from the University of Minho, Portugal, in 2003. He obtained his Licenciado degree in Informatics and Systems Engineering from the University of Minho in 1996.

Since 1999 that he is a Professor of the Communication and Informatics Department at the Technology and Management School (ESTiG) of Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB).  Actually, he is the Course Director of the Master in Informatics at the School of Technology and Management of Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.

As a researcher, he collaborates with the Research Centre in Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics (CeDRI) at IPB and with the Software-based Information Systems Engineering and Management Group (SEMAG) of the Centro ALGORITMI at the University of Minho. His current research focuses on the software engineering area, particularly in software-based information systems, including modeling approaches for analysis and design, ontologies, process life-cycles, project management, and standards. He is the author or co-author of more than ten publications, including book chapters, journals, and proceedings.

José Luís Padrão Exposto

José Luís Padrão Exposto is a Full Time Professor in the Department of Informatics and Communications of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal, and is coordinator of this department. He holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Minho. He has been teaching since 1996, subjects in the area of application development and systems administration. He has been a member of several research projects with national and international funding, including: Hack-it (Erasmus+), Climate Exchange: Ciencia, Ética y Sociedad (Erasmus+), INTERNOVAMARKET-FOOD (POCTEP), COMPETIC (POCTEP), MicroBloodSystems (FCT, Portuguese national funding agency for science, research and technology), SIRe (FCT). Led the modeling and development of several Web and Desktop platforms. He has research interests in the areas of distributed systems, crawling, software development.

Leonel Domingues Deusdado

Leonel D. Deusdado is a Full Time Professor of Informatics and Communications Department of Technology and Management School - (Polytechnic Institute of Bragança – ESTIG- IPB, Portugal). Head of Computer Graphics and Virtual Environment Laboratory (LCGAV), and actual member of several I&D international projects. His main and recent research topics include Virtual Reality applications, 3D Computer Animation, and Augmented Reality in mobile devices.

Luís Manuel Alves

Luís M. Alves received an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Porto and a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Technology from the University of Minho, Portugal. He is a professor at the Technology and Management School of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança since 1999, in the Informatics and Communications Department, where he teaches different courses in the broader area of programming. He is an Internal Collaborator at the Research Centre in Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics (CeDRI) at the Bragança Polytechnic University and an Assistant Researcher at ALGORITMI Center in the Information Systems and Technologies (IST) field at the University of Minho. Currently, he is the Course Director of the Bachelor in Informatics Engineering. His primary research interests include empirical software engineering, software and project management, software metrics, and computer-assisted education.

Paulo Alexandre Vara Alves

Paulo Alexandre Vara Alves has received his Ph.D. in Technology and Information Systems from the University of Minho, Portugal, and a Master in Multimedia Technology from the University of Porto, Portugal. He is a coordinator professor at the department of Informatics and Communications at the School of Technology and Management of Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, starting his academic career in 1997. He is working to improve learning using intelligent systems and to discovery knowledge in large datasets using big data analytics. He is e-learning coordinator of IPB and Mentoring Academy program to improve academic success. The research interests include intelligent systems, big data analytics, e-learning, web development and multimedia.

Paulo Jorge Teixeira Matos

Paulo Jorge Teixeira Matos graduated in Industrial Electronic Engineering in 1994, received an M.Sc. in Informatics in 1999, and a PhD in Technologies of Programming in 2005. In 1996, he joined the Informatic and Communication Department of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. He has published more than 20 papers in national and international conference proceedings and supervised more than 150 graduations, master, and PhD students.

He has also several years working on consulting and development activities for several national and international companies and institutions. In 2013, he founded the startup Techwelf where he remains as CTO and CEO and where projects like Welfy HVAC Smart Controller, eLeveling System, OK1Part, eQRCI, Smart Traffic Light Controller, Swopi Video Stream, and many other products and solutions were created. Some of them allowed Techwelf's presence in acceleration programs of recognized international merit, such as EDP Innovation and Boston Global Immersion. In 2017, he founded the Aresta Binária, Lda promoter of the marketplace Pin2Give and Productivity Smart Coach.

His research interests are in the field of Intelligent Decision Support Systems, Web Semantic, Graph Databases, Ontologies, IoT, Sensor networks, Industry 4.0, Blockchains but mainly technological innovation entrepreneurship. He participated in some national and FP7 funded projects, such as Grace and Arum.

Pedro João Soares Rodrigues

Pedro Rodrigues, received the PhD in Industrial Electronics in 2008 on School of Engineering of University of Minho, Portugal, and the M.Sc. in Engineering of Telecommunications in 2000 on University of Aveiro. He joined the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) in 1999, and currently, he is a Professor in the Computer Science Department of that school. Pedro is a researcher at CeDRI (Research Centre in Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics). He has published articles in journals. and books. He has received several awards in international competitions in the artificial intelligence field. His research interests are in the field of machine learning and quantum computing. He has participated in some funded projects such as BEEHAPPY, BEEHEAL, BEEHOPE, and On-Surf. He has developed the electronics for the IPB RFID system.

Rui Pedro Sanches de Castro Lopes

Rui Pedro Lopes received the MSc degree in Electronics and Telecommunications, and the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He is an associate professor (professor coordenador) at the Polytechnic Institute of Braganca. He is also a member of the CeDRI - Research Center in Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics and collaborator in the IEETA Research Center. His main research interests focus on distributed systems, machine learning and network and systems management.

Tiago Miguel Ferreira Guimaraes Pedrosa

Tiago Pedrosa is a PhD in computer science from the University of Minho, Aveiro and Porto, and a Bachelor in informatics engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. He is adjunct professor, researcher and consultant on the field of cybersecurity and information security at the informatics and communications department of School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. He is also Chief Information Security Officer, Coordinator of the Cybersecurity Competence Center, Coordinator of the Computer Security Incident Response Team and Director of the Short Cycle Course in Cybersecurity. He develops research in the area of applied computer security, integrates projects, makes technology transfer and consultancy. He has several published scientific works, he supervises several masters, bachelor  and internships. He has experience in teaching and mentoring students in foreign language.

The preferred areas of activity are: Design of secure architectures, Hardening of systems, services and networks, Implementation and management of Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems, Collection and Analysis of Strategic Information on Computer Security, Computer Security Incidents Response, Computer Security Audit and Pentesting, Forensic Analysis, and administration of systems and networks.

Where we are
