Paulo Jorge Teixeira Matos graduated in Industrial Electronic Engineering in 1994, received an M.Sc. in Informatics in 1999, and a PhD in Technologies of Programming in 2005. In 1996, he joined the Informatic and Communication Department of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. He has published more than 20 papers in national and international conference proceedings and supervised more than 150 graduations, master, and PhD students.
He has also several years working on consulting and development activities for several national and international companies and institutions. In 2013, he founded the startup Techwelf where he remains as CTO and CEO and where projects like Welfy HVAC Smart Controller, eLeveling System, OK1Part, eQRCI, Smart Traffic Light Controller, Swopi Video Stream, and many other products and solutions were created. Some of them allowed Techwelf's presence in acceleration programs of recognized international merit, such as EDP Innovation and Boston Global Immersion. In 2017, he founded the Aresta Binária, Lda promoter of the marketplace Pin2Give and Productivity Smart Coach.
His research interests are in the field of Intelligent Decision Support Systems, Web Semantic, Graph Databases, Ontologies, IoT, Sensor networks, Industry 4.0, Blockchains but mainly technological innovation entrepreneurship. He participated in some national and FP7 funded projects, such as Grace and Arum.
